Instructions for setting the Breitling B1
This post contains Breitling B1 setting instructons. Here we demonstrate how to synchronise the hands to the digital display. Further down the page, is how to set the time & date.
To help explain, the crown (C) on the Breitling B1 has three positions as shown above. Pushing in the crown (1) only serves to illuminate the digital display, it has no part of setting the watch.
It also has the normal running position (0) and it can be pulled out (2) for making adjustments.
1. With the crown in position 0 turn it through the different modes until the display turns off.
2. Pull the crown out to position 2, this will cause part of the digital display to flash to show us which part we are adjusting.
Hour hand correction
The hours on the display should be flashing. Rotate the crown until the hours displayed by the hand are the same as on the digital display.
Minute hand correction
Now press button B, this will now cause the minutes to flash on the display. Rotate the crown until the minutes displayed by the hand are the same as on the digital display.
Seconds hand correction
Now press button B, this will now cause the seconds to flash on the display. Rotate the crown until the seconds displayed by the hand are the same as on the digital display. Note, with the second hand adjustment, the hand can only go clockwise, if the word ‘no’ is shown in the upper display, turn the crown the opposite way instead.
3. Press in the crown to finish hand synchronisation.
Setting the time.
1. With the crown in position 0 turn it through the different modes until the upper display shows ‘TIME‘
2. Pull the crown out to position 2, this will cause part of the digital display to flash to show us which part we are adjusting. Note that pressing button A will change the time format between 12 or 24 hour clock.
Setting the hours
The hours on the display should be flashing, Rotate the crown to the correct hour.
Setting the minutes
Now press button B, this will now cause the minutes to flash on the display. Rotate the crown to the correct minutes.
Setting the seconds
Now press button B, this will now cause the seconds to flash on the display. Rotate the crown until the seconds have been set. Note, with seconds hand setting, the hand can only go clockwise. The upper display will display ‘no’ when turned in the wrong direction.
3. Press in the crown to finish setting the time.
Setting the calendar
1. With the crown in position 0 turn it through the different modes until the upper display shows ‘DATE‘
2. Pulling the crown out to position 2 will cause part of the digital display to flash to show us what we are adjusting. Note: pressing button A will change the date format between MM/DD/YY and DD/MM/YY.
Setting the Date
The date on the display will be flashing, rotate the crown to the correct date.
Setting the month
Now press button B, this will now cause the month to flash on the display. Rotate the crown to the correct month.
Setting the year
Now press button B, this will now cause the year to flash on the display. Rotate the crown to the correct year.
3. Press in the crown to finish setting the calendar. The upper display will now show the correct day.
